Beijing , the capital of China, is the second largest city in the country , home to many historical buildings and sites. Beijing has 14 districts but only four a located centrally, within the Ring Road Two. The city has “ring roads” which go around the metropolis, staying true to the design of the Forbidden City.

Within the four central districts is where you’ll find most of the historical sites. So, it’s a good idea to look for accommodation here. Dongcheng District is where the Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square are located. Kuanwo (Kuan-Wo) is another good choice, located close to the sites.

You can find hotels in Beijing ranging from 2 stars to luxury 5 stars. But if you are after cheap hotels , it’s best to check out the 2 or 3 stars hotels. Look carefully and you can find a double room in a 3-star hotel for prices starting at 148 CNY (US$23.50) per night in mid-May 2012, located close to the Beijing Railway Station. Close to the Temple of Heaven you’ll be paying from 233 CNY (US$40) per night for a similar room.
