Shanghai is split in two by the Huangpu River, creating to big areas: Puxi and Pudong. Puxi is also divided into districts, such as The Bund — which is the colonial riverside old part of the city – , French Concession — once known as the Paris of the East — and the Old City, among others. Pudong is also divided into districts.
