Manchester

A students’ city, Manchester is famous for its history of industry, music and sports. It is also home to the UK’s third largest airport. The city comprises the central area and the suburbs.

For a lovely view of the city, make sure to take a ride in the Manchester Wheel, located in the Millennium Quarter. Chinatown is an enchanting area and home to some of the best east-Asian restaurants in England. There are plenty of shops with merchandise imported from China, such as magazine. And there are also traditional Chinese medications.

The Village is home to the oldest and most established gay communities in Europe. Here you’ll find some of the best clubs and pubs in Manchester. Each year at the end of August, the area is home to a large Pride festival.

But Manchester doesn’t lack historical sites either. Castlefield is the home of the roman Roman settlement Mamucium. The old walls are still visible and date from the 16th century. Near-by there’s a museum which comprises Liverpool Road station, the first passenger railway station in the world.
