Toulouse

Nicknamed la ville rose (the pink city) for the large number of rose-red brick buildings that mark the skyline in this souther French city, Toulouse is a notirously lively, boisterous city.

Any city that is home to nearly 130,000 students (almost half of the entire population) is bound to have a happening nightlife and Toulouse has a terrific bar and cafe scene, many affordable restaurants and lively residents.

The 4th largest city in France and the capital of the Mid-Pyrenees region, Toulouse is also marked by narrow Medieval streets, many churches and cathedrals and Roman ruins.
