Rhodes

The “sun island” blends in a lovely way the beaches, incredible Medieval town and archeological sites. All combined make Rhodes one of the most sought after holiday destinations in Greece.

The Old Town of Rhodes is, undoubtedly, the most important landmark on the island. The medieval town is incredibly well preserved and efforts have been made to restore this magnificent sight. The former medieval town comprises many buildings and fortifications. But the beautiful sites are not only in Rhodes town. Filerimos Hill comprises medieval ruins, a chapel and a monastery, while offering some of the best views of the north of Rhodes. There are also lovely castles to visit: Lindos, Kastellos and Monolithos.

With more than 300 sun days a year, Rhodes is a favorite beach destination, although the majority of beaches are not sandy but made of gravel. However, that doesn’t stop the tourists from flocking here.
