Internationally there is one major way to get to Hong Kong: through the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA or HKG), colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok (the name of the island it was built on). Hong Kong International Airport is the third busiest airport in Asia.
The modern airport opened in 1998 and has been designated as best airport worldwide by Skytrax (The Official World Airline Star Rating).
There are many flights connecting Hong Kong to major cities from all over the world. Most major cities in Europe, North America, Australia and Oceania are connected via direct flights to Hong Kong. Flights between Hong Kong and other Asian cities are extremely frequent.

Within the airport you can find two of the best malls in Hong Kong: Skyplaza (terminal 2) and SkyMart (terminal 1). In both locations you can spend a lot of time shopping or enjoying a meal. There are also duty-free shops which sell liquor and tobacco.
All over the airport there is free wi-fi internet access.
Plaza Shower and Relaxation lounge is a lovely area where you can freshen after a long flight. There are showers and semi-private rooms for napping.
Getting from the airport to the city
Airport Express: is a fast and environmentally friendly form of transport to and from the airport. The trip to the city takes about 23 minutes and the prices changes according to the distance. If you buy the ticket from the machine, you will pay the standard price but group discounts are offered at the counter. This service tends to be on the pricey side though.
Airbuses: represent the cheaper and slower alternative but connects the airport to all the neighborhoods. You can check the airbuses schedule on the airport’s official website
