Monterrey

The third largest city in Mexico, Monterrey is the commercial, transportation and industrial hub of northern Mexico. Being located very close to the American border, it’s also a place where Americans like to spend money.

Location and how to get to

The city is located just 200 km south of the US/Mexico border which makes it a very interesting vacation spot for the Americans. Generally they arrive by car (Interstate 35 south).

Monterrey is served by two airports which receive both domestic and international flights. The US airlines use General Mariano Escobedo International Airport (MTY). You can fly into Monterrey directly from Chicago, New York, Dallas, Atlanta, to name just a few. Flights from European cities are also available. To get from the airport to downtown you can use the Skybus (less than US$10 one way).
