Goodbye Kilimanjaro’s Glaciers!

In the last few years, there have been many stories about Mt. Kilimanjaro and the snow melting, the glaciers disappearing, and people seeing the peak for the very first time. It’s true – the glacier is disappearing at an alarming rate and some people say that, in less than ten years, it will be completely gone.

Some scientists and activists blame global warmings. Mt. Kilimanjaro is on the equator and therefore suspectible to small changes in the climate. This, they say, is the beginning of the end, not only for Mt. Kilimanjaro, but over time, other mountains around the world. Others claim that Kilimanjaro is melting because of clear cutting – and others say it has been happening for hundreds of years.

Check out these few stories.
