Scotland is an incredible location to visit. You’ll find everything here: from affordable hotels just perfect for the families to expensive places fit for a couple wanting to spend their honeymoon in a castle.
What You Need to Know about Scotland Hotels
Generally speaking, the most important thing to determine the price is the season. All cities have both a low and a high season, with corresponding low and high prices. The high season in Edinburgh is August when the festivals are in full swing and when you won’t be able to find any room unless you booked several months in advance. New Years is also crowded in Scotland so prepare for a peak in prices as well.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from in Scotland, from the laid-back 2 stars family run places to the luxury five stars hotels. If you want to save some money, plan to visit the country in the low season, such as April, May or September. Also you can choose to stay in family run places rather than big chains. Although the facilities won’t be the same, the rooms are clean and the prices lower.
