Madrid

Spain's capital city of Madrid is an entry point for many visitors to the country, but unlike some capitals it's also well worth it to stay and check out the sights. Madrid is the biggest city in the country, and world-renowned for its arts scene and cultural attractions - but you don't have to be an art lover to fall in love with Madrid, because the city also boasts great shopping, excellent restaurants, and a hopping nightlife.

Madrid's most famous museum is arguably the magnificent El Prado, which is home to some incredible works of art by Spanish artists as well as others. Also in Madrid is the museum housing Picasso's enormous "Guernica" painting, the Reina Sofia Museum. And don't forget to sample some of the local fare when you're in Madrid by going on a "tapas crawl" and checking out some Flamenco.
