Los Angeles gets a lot of criticism for being so spread out and difficult to appreciate in a short time, but there is no denying that the city is also packed with fascinating attractions that can't be found anywhere else.

Lined with some of the nicest beaches on earth, the area is also home to the most important parts of the world's entertainment industries, and there are plenty of sights and attractions built around that as well.

You can go surfing in the morning, skiing in the afternoon, and camping in the desert, all in the same day. It's probably a good idea to spread those things out a bit though, as there are so many interesting things in between.
