San Francisco

Often referred to as America's most European city, San Francisco is really a compact combination of many different influences, with large Asian and Hispanic populations that are sometimes taken for granted. Due to its famous hills, this city is so jammed with postcard-perfect views that you'll fill up your camera's memory card on the first day if you are not careful.

The Fisherman's Wharf is one of the most touristy places in the country, and it's still well worth visiting. The harbor area is gorgeous, and the shopping and nearby attractions are fun even in crowds.

The nightlife and restaurant scenes are among the best in the country, so it's wise to not run yourself ragged during the day, even though there is more than enough to do to accomplish that if you are not careful.
