What was your first passport stamp?
A German Visa.
How did you find BootsnAll, &/or what attracted you to it?
I met the Photo Moderator at the time in Iquitos, Peru. In discussing travel, he insisted I hook up with the BootsnAll people since I live in the same city as them.
What keeps you coming back to BootsnAll?
I’ve forged some fantastic and some charmingly dysfunctional friendships with many of the members. Plus it’s nice to find an environment where travel talk is the norm and to not worry about coming off as a braggart when gushing about riding a motorcycle through the jungle to visit Amazonian villages.
Is there a destination you have really liked in spite of it having a poor reputation?
Colombia. Love it.
Do you have any upcoming trips? Where is next on your list?
India has been calling my name since I was a kid, but I’ll happily explore anywhere.
What is a place you’ve been to that you would go back to tomorrow given the chance?
I’ll go anywhere if you’re buying.
How many miles will you be travelling to be at the BootsnAll Party?
What kind of boots do you have?
Any tips you found on BootsnAll or from other members on the forums that helped you on a trip?
Unfortunately I haven’t been on any big trips since I joined, but have used the boards as a source of brainstorming on different ways of working and living abroad.
Have you been to a BootsnAll party before? If so, what survival tips can you offer to any newbies?
Bring a sense of humor, your drinking liver (if that’s your thing) and presents for the locals. We love presents.
Thanks for sharing, crackerjillian. Be sure to say hi to her if you’ll be joining us at the party!
