Mixing the old and the new in an incredible Scottish style, Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities to visit. However, it’s important to realize that no matter how much you try, you won’t be able to visit everything on your first trip here. A very good idea is to write a must-see list and plan your trip around it.
Airfare to Edinburgh
The first thing to consider when you start planning your vacation is the plane ticket. The earlier you book, the cheaper it will be, so make sure to plan your vacation a couple of months in advance. Also, make sure to check the low-cost airlines that offer flights to UK.

Where to stay in Edinburgh
The next step is to choose your accommodation. Edinburgh is very crowded during the summer and especially during the festivals (in August) so it’s almost impossible to book a room for August unless you start to plan months in advance (and I’m talking more than 6 months!). Fortunately you can choose among hotels, hostels, B&Bs and guesthouses, depending on your budget and preferences.

Getting around in Edinburgh
Edinburgh has a really nice public transport system. This is very useful if you decide to stay outside the city center to save some money. But as long as you are near a bus station you don’t need to worry as you will be able to go anywhere you want.
