Travel Guide

New Zealand might be small but it offers a lot of opportunities for a lovely and active vacation. If you visit the country for the first time, it’s probably a good idea to consider booking a tour to explore the country.

Flights to New Zealand

The first thing you need to book when you start planning your vacation is the plane ticket. There are seven international airports in New Zealand but only two of them handle the majority of the international traffic. There are flights from Europe, US, Canada, Asia and Australia. Low-cost carriers connect Australia and the near-by islands to New Zealand as well.

Where to stay in New Zealand

Sleeping in New Zealand can be cheap — if you like to camp or stay at a hostel — or expensive —if you prefer to stay in a luxury hotel. There are other options as well, one of the most popular being a vacation at a farm. Planning and booking in advance is a good idea if you want to be sure you will have a place to stay.

Getting around in New Zealand

Probably the easiest way to get around the country is by flying. The local carriers — including low-cost ones — connect the majority of the cities. You can also take a ferry to hop between North and South Island. Renting a car is a good idea if you like to explore the country at your own pace. In the cities you can either walk — if the city is small — or take the public transport.
